Backstory:
Flora was running. That’s all she knew how to do since she was born 11 years ago. You see, the world had been invaded with giant, humanoid-looking figures from another planet. They started capturing and enslaving humans, most cruel. Only a few humans were still free, but they had to pay the price. Every day they ran, and no matter how hard they tried, they always seemed to run into one of the giant aliens.
Flora was a free human. Her father had been captured when she was young, so she barely had any memories of him. The last words she remembered him saying to her were, “Don’t let them take your imagination from you. Keep on dreaming.”
Flora and her mother held these words close to their hearts. They kept on running, dreaming, surviving. Flora had been born free, and she planned on staying free if she could help it.

(Flora’s perspective)
They had come. The aliens. They captured my father years ago, and now they were onto my mother and I. She had gotten caught in a thick bush, and we heard booming thuds coming towards us. She told me to run, to save myself. I told her I didn’t want to leave her, but she insisted that I get away before they came.
I cried and hugged her, but then the pounding footsteps got louder. She told me now was the time, and with tears in ours eyes, we hugged one last time. We then looked into eachothers eyes, and she whispered, “Go, Flora. Be free.”
I shook my head sadly, tears falling down my face.
“Mother..” I whispered.
“Go.”
I sniffled a bit, but knew she was right. I swiftly got to my feet and waved down to her.
She gave me a sad smile. Both of us were crying hysterically now.
The giants were nearing, so I turned on my heel and ran towards the forest as fast as I could. I looked over my shoulder once, catching small glimpses a giant hand. I heard my mother scream, which only caused me to cry harder.

New Heights - Chapter 1
Sam pulled an oaken bow from the back of the Impala, running a hand along its length. Out of all the monsters he could have been going after... He shook his head in incredulity. He wouldn't have believed the story, honestly, if it weren't for Bobby's stern berating over the phone. Caleb's the one who found it, and you know he ain't one for telling stories. Now quit being a know-it-all, ya idjit!
He smirked fondly at the memory, but quickly sobered when he returned his attention to the weapon before him. He slung a quiver of poison-tipped silver arrows across his back, figuring at least part of the lore they'd pieced together would have an ef

Graceful- Part 1
As far as Juliet was concerned, humans and giants had always lived together. But never in harmony. Humans worked and “entertained” the giants with their talents and skills. Like singing, painting, playing instruments, sports, gymnastics...and dancing. That was the one thing Juliet was good at. That was her talent.
If humans had a talent to share and the giants liked it enough that they had a decent audience, then the humans had a fair life. They had a bed, three meals a day, and a day off to rest and recuperate. The others didn’t have it so good. If they didn’t have a talent that giants were interested in, or if they

An Interpreter's Travels
Straightening her back, Celia Clark knew that now was not the time to be frightened. She had been prepared for this. Interaction between the countries was normal and expected…and someone had to do it. She had been trained for months and today was going to be her first actual run interacting. But she was still terrified. It was one thing to read the books, it was another to watch the videos. It was quite another to board the boat and actually go to the country. The land was like her own in every way, and the people living there were just like her…in hand, trunk, foot and with a little training…language. The two countr
